Nasrid

The Nasrids were a Muslim dynasty ruling over the Kingdom of Granada in Spain from the 13th to the 15th century, famed for their major architectural achievement, the Alhambra.

The Nasrid dynasty was the last Muslim dynasty in Spain, coming to power in 1232. Under their rule, Granada became a center of Islamic culture and scholarship. The Nasrids are best known for constructing the Alhambra, a palatial complex in Granada that is a masterpiece of Islamic architecture, featuring famed palaces, ornate courtyards, and refined gardens. The Nasrid reign coincided with the Reconquista, during which Christian kingdoms in Spain sought to reclaim territories under Muslim control, culminating in the fall of Granada in 1492.
