About this site

Distant journeys within everyone's reach

Nowadays it is no longer really essential to be a confirmed adventurer to discover the wonders of the world. Even if after a certain age it is more pleasant to stay in a comfortable hotel rather than camping by a mosquito-infested river with a tin bowl to prepare your elaborate evening meal with that you find in the nature. All this to say that we can travel at any age in good conditions with all the offers of specialists in distant trips. Everything is organized, we no longer need to worry about anything other than the battery level of the camera and to concentrate on the images that we want to bring back. As far as my wife and I are concerned, we waited until our children were completely independent before starting to travel.

About travel-video.info

This site was born out of a dual ambition: to prolong the joy of travelling beyond the return home, and to share — with rigour and passion — what so many others merely skim over. While long-distance travel is no longer reserved for seasoned adventurers, capturing the invisible richness of a place still requires time and attention. This project has evolved into a visual, multilingual, and documentary-style travel journal.

Originally, the site focused on personal videos combining still images and film sequences. These videos — all available in three languages (French, English, and Dutch) — each feature a dedicated audio commentary. For more recent films, subtitles are also provided in all three languages to make the content accessible to a wider audience.

Over time, the site structure has expanded. Video pages are now supplemented with more detailed documentation about the filmed monuments, placed within their historical and architectural context. Additional sections feature dynastic fact sheets, interactive maps, and a trilingual glossary, creating meaningful links between locations, historical periods, and cultural traditions.

All content is organized by language, except for the homepage, which mixes the three languages. Each version of the site provides access to the same resources in a fully separated and coherent layout.

Travel-video.info is entirely self-funded and has no commercial affiliation. It is regularly updated with verified data and kept free of intrusive advertising. All internal links, maps, and metadata are generated from a structured database, ensuring both accuracy and browsing consistency.

This site is intended as a tool for discovery, a pedagogical resource, and a platform for the promotion of global heritage, where memory, travel, and image come together.
