Project and Editorial Approach
travel-video.info is a multilingual documentary website dedicated to showcasing global heritage through the lens of travel. Independently developed, the site offers a visual, historical, and cultural exploration of monuments, traditions, dynasties, and landscapes, documented through journeys across multiple continents.
The project is structured around three main pillars:
- Geolocated videos combining original photographs with audio narration, available in three languages (French, English, and Dutch). For the most recent films, subtitles are also available in all three languages.
- Associated documentary pages, focusing on filmed monuments and enriched with historical, architectural, and geographical context. These entries are created with precision and draw from cross-referenced sources.
- Thematic resources, including dynastic fact sheets, an interactive map, and a multilingual glossary, enabling cross-navigation between places, historical periods, and cultural practices.
The site is fully structured by language: each version provides a separate editorial experience and independent navigation. Audio commentary is recorded separately for each language, and all translations are manually crafted to ensure linguistic accuracy and consistency.
travel-video.info is fully self-funded and maintains its editorial independence. The site features no intrusive advertising and is regularly updated with verified information. All internal links, maps, and metadata are generated from a structured database, ensuring both accuracy and user-friendly navigation.
The site is intended for a broad audience, including curious travelers, teachers, researchers, cultural institutions, and tourism professionals interested in promoting a contextual and culturally engaged approach to heritage. Collaboration proposals are welcome.
