Project and Editorial Approach

travel-video.info is a multilingual documentary website dedicated to showcasing global heritage through the lens of travel. Independently developed, the site offers a visual, historical, and cultural exploration of monuments, traditions, dynasties, and landscapes, documented through journeys across multiple continents.

The project is structured around three main pillars:

  1. Geolocated videos combining original photographs with audio narration, available in three languages (French, English, and Dutch). For the most recent films, subtitles are also available in all three languages.
  2. Associated documentary pages, focusing on filmed monuments and enriched with historical, architectural, and geographical context. These entries are created with precision and draw from cross-referenced sources.
  3. Thematic resources, including dynastic fact sheets, an interactive map, and a multilingual glossary, enabling cross-navigation between places, historical periods, and cultural practices.

The site is fully structured by language: each version provides a separate editorial experience and independent navigation. Audio commentary is recorded separately for each language, and all translations are manually crafted to ensure linguistic accuracy and consistency.

travel-video.info is fully self-funded and maintains its editorial independence. The site features no intrusive advertising and is regularly updated with verified information. All internal links, maps, and metadata are generated from a structured database, ensuring both accuracy and user-friendly navigation.

The site is intended for a broad audience, including curious travelers, teachers, researchers, cultural institutions, and tourism professionals interested in promoting a contextual and culturally engaged approach to heritage. Collaboration proposals are welcome.
