Krishna

Krishna is a major deity in Hinduism, revered as an incarnation of Vishnu. He is famous for his teachings in the Bhagavad Gita and his heroic and romantic exploits in the Puranas.

Krishna, one of the most revered deities in Hinduism, is considered the eighth incarnation (avatar) of the god Vishnu. According to tradition, he was born in Mathura to Vasudeva and Devaki. To protect him from the tyrannical king Kamsa, Krishna was secretly taken to Gokul where he was raised by Nanda and Yashoda.

Krishna is known for his multiple roles and adventures. As a child, he is famous for his mischievous exploits and miraculous acts, such as lifting the Govardhan Hill to protect the inhabitants of Gokul from a storm sent by Indra. As a young man, he is known for his romantic relationships with the gopis, especially Radha, symbolizing divine love.

Krishna plays a central role in the Mahabharata, where he serves as a guide and advisor to Prince Arjuna. His philosophical and spiritual teachings, presented in the Bhagavad Gita, cover aspects such as duty (dharma), selfless action (karma yoga), and devotion (bhakti).

As the king of Dwarka, Krishna had several children, including Pradyumna, Aniruddha, and Samba. He is also revered for his heroic acts, such as defeating numerous demons and protecting his devotees.

Krishna is worshiped through many festivals, including Janmashtami, celebrating his birth, and Holi, marking his playful games with the gopis. His teachings and example continue to inspire millions of devotees around the world.
