hinduism

Hinduism is one of the oldest and most practiced religions in the world, primarily in India and Nepal, characterized by a diversity of beliefs, practices, and sacred texts.

Hinduism, also known as Sanatana Dharma, is a major religion originating from the Indian subcontinent. It has no single founder and has developed over several millennia, integrating a multitude of beliefs, practices, and traditions. The sacred texts of Hinduism include the Vedas, the Upanishads, the Bhagavad Gita, and epics such as the Mahabharata and the Ramayana.

Fundamental Hindu beliefs include the concept of dharma (duty or moral law), karma (actions and their consequences), samsara (the cycle of birth and rebirth), and moksha (liberation from the cycle of reincarnation). Hinduism recognizes a wide pantheon of deities, with the most revered being Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, forming the Hindu trinity or Trimurti.

Hindu religious practices vary widely and can include meditation, yoga, temple rituals, pilgrimages, and festivals such as Diwali, Holi, and Navaratri. Hinduism also emphasizes tolerance and acceptance of various spiritual paths, which explains its great internal diversity.

Hindu architecture is rich and varied, with temples often decorated with detailed sculptures and religious symbols. These temples are centers of religious and social life, hosting daily rituals and annual festivals.
