Isis

Isis is a major goddess in Egyptian mythology, associated with motherhood, magic, and protection. She is the sister and wife of Osiris and the mother of Horus.

Isis is one of the most revered deities in ancient Egypt. Known for her great intelligence and magical powers, she is often depicted with a throne on her head or as a woman holding her son Horus. She is the daughter of Geb (god of the earth) and Nut (goddess of the sky), and the sister of Osiris, Seth, and Nephthys. According to the legend, Isis is particularly known for reassembling Osiris's body after her brother Seth murdered and dismembered him. Using her magical powers, she resurrected Osiris and conceived their son, Horus. Isis also protected Horus during his childhood, preparing him to avenge his father’s death. She is associated with the protection of pharaohs and symbolizes divine motherhood, while also being revered for her ability to overcome chaos through magic. Her worship spread far beyond Egypt, notably into the Roman Empire, where she was honored as a universal goddess.
