Buddha

Buddha, born Siddhartha Gautama around 563 BCE and died around 483 BCE, is the founder of Buddhism. He is revered for his teachings on the path to enlightenment. The term "Buddha" also refers to anyone who has attained enlightenment.

uddha, originally named Siddhartha Gautama, was born around 563 BCE in Lumbini, present-day Nepal, and died around 483 BCE in Kushinagar, India. A prince of a small kingdom, he renounced his luxurious life after becoming aware of human suffering. After years of spiritual quest, he attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya. He then spent the rest of his life teaching the Four Noble Truths and the Noble Eightfold Path, fundamental principles of Buddhism that explain the nature of suffering and the way to overcome it. His teachings gave rise to one of the world's major religions, influencing millions of people across Asia and beyond.

The term "Buddha" means "the Awakened One" or "the Enlightened One" and is also used as a title for anyone who has attained the state of Buddhahood, which is complete enlightenment and liberation from the cycle of rebirth (samsara). In this sense, it does not refer solely to Siddhartha Gautama but can also apply to other figures who have achieved this state in Buddhist tradition.
