| Varaha | Varaha is the third avatar of Vishnu in Hindu mythology, depicted as a boar, known for saving the Earth from the cosmic ocean. Varaha, the third avatar of Vishnu, is a significant figure in Hindu mythology. According to the legend, at the end of the Satya Yuga, the Earth (Bhudevi) was submerged in the cosmic ocean by the demon Hiranyaksha. To rescue the Earth, Vishnu took the form of a giant boar, Varaha. Diving into the depths of the ocean, Varaha engaged in a fierce battle with Hiranyaksha and managed to defeat the demon. He then lifted the Earth with his tusks and brought it back to the surface, restoring it to its rightful place in the universe. Varaha is often depicted with the body of a man and the head of a boar, holding the Earth on one of his tusks. This avatar symbolizes the triumph of good over evil and the restoration of cosmic order. |
