Hoshang Shah, full name Hoshang Shah Ghori, was born in the late 14th century and died in 1435. He ruled the kingdom of Malwa in India from 1406 to 1435. Hoshang Shah is primarily known for his prosperous reign during which he encouraged the development of architecture, culture, and administration. He founded the city of Mandu, which became his capital, and greatly contributed to its beautification with the construction of magnificent buildings. One of his most famous projects is the Tomb of Hoshang Shah in Mandu, an early example of Mughal architecture in India. His reign is often described as a period of stability and prosperity for the kingdom of Malwa. |
