Mount Popa near Mandalay in Myanmar is seven hundred steps from a small village with its shops, inhabitants and small monkeys to a golden pagoda at the top of an extinct volcano.

about the place, Popa Mount:

In central Myanmar, some fifty kilometers from Mandalay, rises the crater of an extinct volcano, Mount Popa. It is an important pilgrimage center in the country and a magnificent little pagoda sits at its top. Summit that is deserved because you have to climb about 700 steps trying to escape the grumbling and sympathetically aggressive little monkeys.
