India - Hola Mohalla 2018 - Punjab and Himachal Pradesh

Hola Mohalla 2018 trip

After having seen seeing the biggest Hindu festival in the world (the Kumbh Mela), it was time to see a big Sikh festival. The Hola Mohalla is a great martial festival and is an opportunity for Sikhs to measure themselves and show their skills in holding a weapon or holding on a horse. This festival takes place in Anandpur Sahib in Punjab, home of the Sikhs.

This trip was also an opportunity to see the Himalayas again, but this time on the western side. Himachal Pradesh.

A small train led us after a few hours to the city of Shimla just after we visited Chandigarh, the pilot city, capital of both Punjab and Haryana designed and built by Le Corbusier.

Other highlights of this trip: Patiala and Amritsar with its famous golden temple and its impressive gurdwara.
