Concert by Mauravann

Mauritian producer Percy Yp Tong does a huge job promoting traditional music from the Indian Ocean. With his production house Cyper Produktion he formed groups of musicians and organized tours for them on several continents.

Here is the recording of the concert given by one of these groups originating from Mauritius, Mauravann.

Not quite a traditional sega group, Mauravann was formed around the singer Linzy Bakbotte.

The musicians are Emmanuel Desroches, Kurwin Castel and Samuel Dubois,

The concert was recorded in Brussels on June 10, 2016 and was organized jointly by Cyper Produktion and Muziekpublique, a non-profit association working for the discovery of traditional world music.
